The Caterpillar

For this week’s QHTP prompt: Forest

Here’s my poem:

The Caterpillar

A bright sunny day

And I stay in home

And do my dirty laundry

But then I switch

And change

This channel in my head

To the green lush

And the caterpillar

Building it’s cocoon.

Is it aware?

Of what it might turn into?

Is it aware?

Of how the rays,

From high up above

Reach the forest floor

And rises the inflorescence

That would be it’s attraction

A few days from now?

Is it aware of the dangers,

Lurking in the dark deep corners?

The frog beside the lily swamp?

Or the chameleon that becomes the branch?

Why do you need to worry?

When you have work now?

Just tow your own road that’s in the present

And life’d be pleasant.

And here it switches back,

To my laundry

That I need to complete,

As a dizzy butterfly flutters by.

Thanks! ✨😁
